I am organising a course, seminar or other training activity and the trainers do not speak the same language as the trainees.
Most suitable service
The most suitable service will depend on the number of participants and the characteristics of the training. It may be;
- Liaison interpreting (few participants)
- Simultaneous interpreting with interpreting audio guides (more than 5 attendees or when attendees are going to be outside the classroom)
- Simultaneous interpreting with interpreting booths (when they are very long sessions and/or groups of more than 30 people)
How does it work?
- In the case of liaison interpreting, the trainer pronounces short sentences which are then translated by the interpreter standing next to them.
- In the case of simultaneous interpreting with interpreting audio guides, the trainer is provided with a microphone and a transmitter. The interpreter listens to the guide on one channel using a receiver while transmitting the translation on another channel using a transmitter. Students are given a receiver with headphones so that they can listen to the interpreter (or trainer, depending on the channel they choose).
- In the case of “simultaneous interpreting with interpreting booths, the interpreters are located in the booth and instantly translate the speaker’s words.
What do you need?
INFRASTRUCTURE: depending on the service chosen.
INTERPRETERS: one or two interpreters per language, depending on the case.
And what do the interpreters need?
Copies of the course material (teaching material and teacher’s guide), preferably in time to be able to study them.
